I started Leisure Pursuits so I could find like minded people with the hopes of starting a massive community together. I love to stay active. I enjoy wearing many hats. My passion truly is exploring the great unknown. I am always looking for life long friends. So please join us.
Our Leisure Pursuits page is part of Eclectic Edge Entertainment, where we've gathered all my passions and hobbies under one vibrant umbrella. Each blogging and vlogging page has its own unique name, reflecting the diverse range of topics I love to explore. Be sure to check out the other pages for any passions you share!
I am Casey Jay Moore, the owner of all companies. I have many interests and it keeps evolving over time. I enjoy learning news things and I like to keep busy. I am in the process of finding my people.
My vision is to always leave the world better than the way I found it in all things I do. I encourage everyone to stop dreaming and start living out your dreams. Life is too short and if you don't act now life will pass you by before you know it. There's no better time than right now. Get motivated, get excited about life and get in shape. Let's start with my passion for hiking and go from there. Hiking looks easier than it actually is. It can humble the toughest of men and women for sure. But this page isn't just about hiking, scroll down for an array of topics for all leisure & hobby enthusiasts.
“The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone, is likely to find himself or herself in places no one has ever been.” – Albert Einstein.
Hiking and music have given me great peace in my life. My trail name is 'Jukebox Junky'. It is never too late to crank up that bucket list regardless of your age. As a 58 year old sigma male, I can tell you that life looks very different on the way out than on the way in. Life has a way of royally humbling everyone at some point. And I mean everyone. No past dirty deed or sin goes unpunished. Father Time is a bastard, lol. Walk a path of kindness. Don't always look down - take the time to look up now and again. You never know what you might discover.
The wisdom I give you is free. It's much like when you first start the trail as a thru-hiker. But by the time you reach your final destination you come out with a greater appreciation for the simple things in life. Your fellow hikers become not only your best friends but they also become a life long family. The trail gives you everything you need along the way. It changes you into a better person. Trust your instincts & intuition. Oh by the way, the trail chaos is part of the odyssey. The trail tales will make you laugh while the hypocrisy of some of the shitbags will test your patience. Hike your own hike and let the followers follow the crowd (boring). Don't let the hypocrites con you into not listening to your own music along the way. Crank it up! Last I checked it is a free country. And never let a snob tell you if you snore that you can't stay in a shelter. Just reply "maybe it's you, a non-snoring privileged little turd, who might want to be the one to go sleep in your tent". The coin flips both ways.
After you decompress from the trail you will soon need to give back to the trail. I would suggest becoming a Trail Angel, give some trail magic along the way, volunteer to maintain a part of the trail, or maybe even open up a Hostel for your fellow hikers. The trail in the end is not about you; it's about the trail. Whatever you do, just give back. Don't be a fucktard. Everyone and everything within the trail is magical. Except maybe the mosquitos. They suck, literally.
Please don't be that person who came only to take from the trail. You know the ones who only look to get monetized, become famous or the little kiss-ass trying to get a gear contract. Trust me, there's enough of those fucktards on YouTube. Unfortunately, some actually believe they are legends in their own mind. Please don't become them; that's not what the trail was meant for. There is no such thing as "I expect. I deserve. I am entitled to" on the trail, lol. That's life. What more can I tell you? Here ends the lesson...

Experience the thrill of hiking. Take a memorable hike that will leave life-long memories. Let us help you with some of the best trails in America and the world. Have no fears, we've got you covered around your local area as well. Start out with a day hike first. Move up to a section hike. And then take on the challenging thru hike. The hiking community is a beautiful thing but there are a few who will try to scare you because they don't want you to succeed for whatever reason. My point is just go for it! See the real world out on the trail because it will change your life and perspective. You will be a far better person for it.
We promise to give you informative unbiased thoughts about gear and technology. We give you the positive and negative things that you need to know in order to make the right decision. We are not here to help gear companies. We do not accept free gear. We are not sell outs. Our loyalty is to our community. If the company or product sucks we will tell you. You get it straight or not at all. We will expose gear companies that don't have great customer service. We are here to assist 'you' with your 'budgets' and to help you enjoy your experience regardless the hobby. There is nothing worse than things turning into a clusterfuck caused by gear issues or service.
Music might be a personal choice but sometimes you forget the golden oldies. Sometimes you just need some recommendations so you can explore a different genre of music for your trip. The key is not being a closed minded Muppet. Just saying.
If you want to enjoy your hike it helps to plan out the logistics. Several of our staff can give you tips, news and updates so your thru hike is safe and fun. Nothing beats taking a break at a hostel when your body tells you to. I can't stress enough, nobody is impressed or cares by how many miles you do, but your body does! Please listen to your body so you don't have to cancel your adventure earlier than expected.
Understand where you're going. Look forward to things along your journey by being informed. Take your time - don't be full of regret later by missing an event, historic site or life changing view. Knowing where you are going helps you to not get lost. The wilderness can be unforgiving just like the weather. Not to mention being uninformed about wildlife and insects.
Being informed gives you safety and security. Knowledge is power. Survival preparation gives you that extra peace of mind. The benefits of planning helps you to be informed with the culture, your surroundings, transportation, resupply, places to stay, tourist sites, gear stores & places to go. The goal is to make it to your final destination with no regrets.
There is nothing more exciting than walking past the archway of your starting point towards an adventure that will last a lifetime. All your hard earned investments and planning begin to pay off immediately. Let us be the source of your much needed news, reviews and tips on what to expect along the way.
On the last day of your hike it can be exhilarating and emotional at the same time. The triumph is an indescribable feeling. In one way you're happy that it's over and on the other hand you're sad that it's over. I will never understand those who rush through the experience. I never want it to end so I take my time. I want to take it all in. When the journey is over I want no regrets because you can't go back to a moment in time. At least not yet. When you get back home the trail will have changed you. It will take some time to readjust to the grid once again. We have tricks to share with you in our blogs & podcast that will help you. So come join us and share your experiences with our community as well.

The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. "The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun."
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
The world is about people, places and the things we do with our lives. I think more people would be happy if they just got outside more. Let your bare feet hit the ground. Take that ice bath and be refreshed. You don't have to play team sports in order to relax and enjoy life. I struggle with my weight because I am a chef, former restaurant owner and foodie so I need to stay active. I am like a shark who constantly keeps busy and eats throughout the day. I never get full. I thirst for life. I hope through blogging and podcasting we can become a strong community together. We need to put our differences aside and just enjoy life together. Ideologies of governments try to divide us for their own benefit; don't let them trap you in their sickness. Interact with me and share your comments with others. So many people have turned me on to a ton of cool and fun activities over the years. And now I wish to give back to others who were just as clueless as I was. Don't waste another minute of your life sitting around doing nothing. Join me! And while you're at it, share your experience with us!
It doesn't take a lot of money to enjoy yourself. Going out to a nice restaurant to enjoy an amazing glass of wine and dinner is a great leisure activity. Maybe a walk through an art gallery or maybe a game of chess with someone. At 58 I have done so many things in my life yet I feel as if I am just scratching the surface. My bucket list is long and I am going to keep trying new things. My goal is to give you as many ideas as I can and to share my experiences with you. I hope you'll do the same. Most people spend their life on their phone while I have no idea where mine is, lol. Don't even get me started on the many things to do behind closed doors as well. The pleasures of life are limitless...
